about

This is some music I’ve written on my iPad, using GarageBand, over lockdown and a bit afterwards too.
I’ve found the iPad a really great musical instrument for creating and recording improvisations, you can ‘play’ it and record the results instantly, bypassing the whole documentation process but also , by a similar token, much more akin to our ‘instant gratification’ world, which I have found myself part of in so doing.
I’d like to compose more but often the process is arduous. I am a good musical improviser though and the iPad was a great outlet for me. (I can and do compose but have always found the best stuff to be that that has required the least editing, the first takes)
The music is quite varied, some quite traditional sounding, some not so much, more jazzy. The electronic sounds reinterpret some of the traditional sounds in an fresh way.
Sounds good on headphones!
